13 Jan Oh Wow! – 3D Graffiti, 50s Screen Titles and Music Collabs.
Music collaborations account for the majority of today’s Oh Wow! round-up, but on the visual side of things we’ve also got some “3D graffiti” artworks, popular TV shows reimaged as 50s screen titles and a short film that’ll make you feel like you’re on a sunny holiday.
ONE – Nonku Phiri and Mr. Carmack feature on ‘Let Me Go’, the first track off Branko‘s upcoming projectATLAS, recorded at the Red Bull Studios in Cape Town.
TWO – In an exclusive clip from Shield and Spear for Huck Magazine, The Brother Moves On talks about being a young and politically conscious band in SA today.
THREE – 3D Grafitti works from Boeta Phyf‘s dual exhibition with Neill Wright at The Palms in Woodstock. The show closes on 25 July, so hurry if you’d like to see them in person.
FOUR – Haezer and Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo (SBCR) collaborated on the hard-hitting track, ‘Mind Off’ released via Kannibalen Records.
FIVE – Promotional posters for Myths Recreated, a group show opening at Worldart (Cape Town) on 31 July. Keep an eye out for a more in-depth piece about the exhibition on 10and5 next week.
SIX – New York-based serpentwithfeet paired up with Fantasma’s guitarist Andre Geldenhuys on ‘penance’.
SEVEN – A collection of TV shows reimagined as 50s screen titles by Radio.
EIGHT – A short film made by Emmajanenation while on the ferry from Santorini to Folegandros.
